Lucky Monkey Home: Feng Shui Design and Living

mark-tien.jpg Providing a work space within your home that inspires you to be your best every day can be one of the most important business investments you ever make. Tien Wee is a design consultant who helps people do just that.

“I am inspired by people and life filled with magic, creation, beauty and love”

Tien Wee launched Lucky Monkey Home, Feng Shui Design and Living in 2005. Tien says, “LMH is the direct result of a harmonious blend of intelligent Green and Sustainable Interior Design and Feng Shui – the ancient Chinese Art of Placement.”
“I believe that chi, energy is in everything. From the little tea cup to the floor tile, I ensure that I am surrounded only by things I love and that empower me. It is my business, it is my life.”
In his professional life, Tien wants his clients to come home everyday to a space they are in love with. Tien is also committed to be what he wants the world to be – “a place where all beings experience freedom, love and loving their lives.”
With a solid background in design and the art of Feng Shui, Tien’s projects are diverse. They range from renovating and reselling investment properties, small space condos, craftsman homes, modernist homes, Whistler holiday getaways and a Yaletown commercial site.

“I live my life by creating it”
“I choose a high vibrational place to start from and set forth who I am being in that moment, and then I choose what I desire to have show up to support my life.”
This bundle of energy has also created a line of all natural, high vibration candles and sprays to inspire a space for “love, wellness, prosperity, still & glee” in your home. A line of sterling silver prosperity coins are also available from this multi-talented monkey. “I create jewelry as a hobby, having been a silver smith for over 12 years. I do high end custom pieces with BC and Canadian stones, and host an annual show event to showcase my work, my show suite and my products.
Tien started up a new (and now thriving) BNI chapter and became President within 6 weeks. He also founded “Happy Tranny Day”, the first ever Trans celebration in western Canada, which was successfully held April 13th, 2008.
Tien recently renovated his website with a few personal touches and sound to bring you into a space where you can experience “great chi” (and get to know Tien in a way most other sites do not).

“I want people to come home to great chi”

I asked Tien what was his favorite space in his own home and without hesitation he said, “The dining room vignette. It captures the essence of Feng Shui and interior design with elements from the classical to the contemporary.” All I know is it’s a beautiful oasis in a corner of his home.
What I love is his workspace. It’s in the middle of an open floor plan space and yet, the white hanging panels close off to create a light box transforming the entire loft from a chaotic work space to peace at home in seconds – how cool is that?
When asked about using green and sustainable products over the choices of the past he replied, “I believe that in the world of products, paint, tiles, etc, healthy energy is vital. Green and sustainable products have a much higher vibration because of the higher workplace standards, the honourable harvesting methods of the materials and the care and respect that goes into the creation of the product.” These products are not just good for the environment; they inspire us to be our best.
Tien suggests the Complete Idiots Guide to Feng Shui book as a good place to start in learning about this ancient art.
With great chi to inspire him in his home and work life, the most challenging part of starting his business has been himself (self-doubt can be tough at times). And yet, he has been surprised by what he can accomplish once he chooses to be great. Either way, Tien says, he asks for, “Nothing, it’s all perfect. Because out of nothing, everything can arise!””
A pretty good place to start, I’d say.
